Cruise Deals for Less than $60 per night

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009 by Tim Spooner

cruise dealsWhen looking for a good deal, one important thing to consider is how much are you paying for each day of your cruise.

Let’s say you see one cruise being advertised at $389 per person and another offer for $645 per person. That is not enough information to know which is the better price. Now you need to look at how many nights you get with the cruise package.

As it turns out, in this fictitious example you will pay $389 for 4-nights but $645 per person for 9-nights.

The second cruise offer is clearly the better price as you will only pay about $70 per night; wheras the $389 offer costs about $97 per night.

You will also want to consider the destination, ports of call, and what amenities are included on the ship.

A great starting point for fantastic cruise deals, would be this page of cruises that cost less than $60 per night.

Las Vegas Deals That’ll Light Up Your Night Sky

Saturday, June 13th, 2009 by Tim Spooner

honeymoon in Las VegasOne of the favorite places to get married and honeymoon is Las Vegas. With some of the most amazing shows in the world, stunning hotels, premier restaurants, lively pool parties, many special events and gambling galore, Las Vegas is like Disney World for adults.

Las Vegas’ tourist season dies down some for the hot summer months since it is often over 100 degrees F and because honeymooners tend to think of beaches in the summer.

But for those who choose to honeymoon in Las Vegas in the summer can hit the jackpot in fantastic deals.

First off, you can fly to Las Vegas for as little as $19 (each way). That’s not a typo you see there. I’m serious! This offer is good for 30+ cities through Allegiant Air.

If you are not from one of those cities, no sweat. You can still get to Las Vegas at unbelievably low prices.

You can also see top Las Vegas shows at 50% off and get great bargains on hotels and food.

You can learn about all of these specials by taking a look at this Las Vegas Deals and Resources Page.

If you are still unsure of what you would do while you are in Las Vegas, check out this list of 100 things to do in Las Vegas. Also take a look at this page offering the best of the best that Las Vegas has to offer.

Oahu, Hawaii Hotel Deal that Won’t Leave You Poor

Friday, May 8th, 2009 by Tim Spooner

If you are looking for a great honeymoon deal, it is the perfect time to seriously consider a honeymoon in Hawaii.

Flying to Hawaii is quite affordable at the moment thanks to a very competitive travel industry. I expect flight prices to increase as summer reaches its height but still I think you will find flying to Hawaii will be very affordable compared to the prices I have seen in the past.

The most visited island in Hawaii is Oahu. It boasts excellent beaches including the world famous Waikiki beach.

Now, once you  get to Hawaii, you will need a place to stay. You will want to be near the action but you don’t want to see visions of dollar signs while you are sleeping on an overpriced hotel bed.

I set out to find an affordable hotel within walking distance from Waikiki Beach that wouldn’t send you from your honeymoon to the poor house.

One hotel that looks like a great option for honeymooners is Aston’s Waikiki Joy Hotel.

The hotel is just a short walk from Waikiki Beach, boasts of jacuzzi tubs in each room, and all the other comforts you would expect from a hotel.

The best part is that you can get all of this for less than $100 per night according to Aston’s current specials.

Have you found any other great honeymoon deals?

Save My Honeymoon from the Mexican Swine Flu Outbreak

Thursday, April 30th, 2009 by Tim Spooner
Mexico is usually among the favorite honeymoon destinations and for good reason. But now that Mexico is struggling with the recent swine flu outbreak, many couples are finding themselves wondering what to do about their Mexico destination honeymoons planned for the next couple months.

In fact, there have been reports of honeymooners contracting the illness in popular Mexican honeymoon resort areas such as Cancun.
Here is a story of a British couple who got sick and here is another story about a Scottish couple who came down with the illness.
If you are booked for a cruise visiting Mexico, chances are that your cruise is being re-routed to avoid Mexico. Before canceling your booking, check with your cruise line to find out what precautions they are taking to avoid contact with the new flu outbreak.

If you are booked with a resort in Mexico, talk to your travel agent to find out what solutions he or she is providing. Perhaps your honeymoon trip is covered by insurance so that you can get your money back and either book for another destination or another time. The resorts themselves should also be willing to refund your money or at least let you book for a different time (after the flu outbreak has become controlled).

If you want to make new arrangements, consider the Caribbean or Hawaii as good alternative destinations at a similar cost. We recommend that you ask your travel agent about these alternate destinations. Your travel agent should be sympathetic to your situation and be able to find you a great deal.
If you want to do your own research, then read on…
Here’s a great place to start when looking for Caribbean honeymoon deals. As you start designing your fresh, new honeymoon remember that Cancun, although often considered a Caribbean destination, is a Mexican coastal city.

Once you figure out what kind of Caribbean honeymoon you want, check out current specials to see if you can get what you want at a special price.
There are many good honeymoon deals for Hawaii right now.
Here is a hawaii honeymoon deals site where you can select which island you are most interested in and then you can take a look at featured hotels and resorts starting with 5 star hotels — so don’t be put off by the first price set you see, keep on scrolling down for more affordable options.
Another site lists their best hawaii honeymoon deals in two categories:
My sympathies go out to anyone who is trying to save their honeymoon from this unexpected flu outbreak.
Feel free to vent and tell me how this flu outbreak has affected your plans. We would all be interested to hear what honeymoo deals you found at short notice.
Please leave your comments.
